Hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) driving dynamics

Project:

This project concerns driving dynamics of Hybrid Electric Vehicles. In this context driving dynamics refers to giving the driver as much control as possible over the vehicle in the ground plane, and to assist or override the driver when he is passing the limits for road adhesion, hitting surrounding obstacles, etc. in order to get improved driving safety. The development of HEVs will result in new power trains, brake systems, suspension systems, vehicle chassis characteristics etc. Driving safety functions will therefore be realized in new ways. This will also give a potential for new or improved functions. This research is intended to investigate consequences of HEV on the driving dynamics and to develop methods for how they can be evaluated. It assumes a complete vehicle development approach with multi-disciplinary cooperation.
