Project:

The project is divided into two parts:

Focus of lies partly within developing design guidelines and gaining qualitative/quantitative knowledge for enhanced HVI control of vehicle direction (steering) for ground vehicles (passenger cars and light trucks) assuming by-wire technology and unconventional use of and unconstrained by the current driver-vehicle control interfaces. The impact of varying driver’s driving skill is also investigated.

The other main objective is to quantify and verify the relationship between driving skill for the primary tasks and driver's attention for the secondary task, to develop and verify an enhanced driver model that quantifies the driving skill of the driver, and to develop and verify an algorithm that identifies the skill of the driver.
