Arriving by Air
Stockholm International Airport, Arlanda, is situated 44 kilometres north of Stockholm. Arlanda Express, the high speed airport train, departs every 15 minutes from Arlanda to Stockholm Central Station. At Arlanda Airport, there are two stations for Arlanda Express. One station with entrances in Terminal 2, 3 and 4, and the other with entrance in Terminal 5. A taxi ride from the Central Station costs between SEK 70-150 depending on the time of the day and the traffic situation.
From the Stockholm Central Station, KTH is just 10 minutes away by underground (Tunnelbana). Take the Red Line travelling in the direction of Mörby Centrum and get off at the station Tekniska Högskolan. Follow the signs for the Östra Station/Tekniska Högskolan exit. Walk up Drottning Kristinas väg and follow the route indicated on the map above. The Department is located in the building with the 8 m high von Karman turbulence sculpture on the wall. This should take you approximately three minutes walking from the metro station.
Arriving by Car
From Arlanda airport: Drive south towards Stockholm on the E4. Once you approach the northern city limits Norrtull, keep in the right hand lanes and follow the signs for Värtahamnen. This will take you from Norrtull through the roundabout at Roslagstull and onto Valhallavägen going south.
In order to get to the Department you will actually have to pass KTH (large red brick building on your left hand side) going south on Valhallavägen. In order to do a 180° turn and come back to KTH, take the first left (note that there is about 20 m of left hand traffic as you cross the middle of Valhallavägen) and take a left again, now going north on Valhallavägen. Take the next right turn into Drottning Kristinas väg and follow the route indicated on the map above
