Wake wash and wave resistance

KTH Naval Architecture is working with numerical and experimental studies of wake-wash and wave-making resistance. This for example includes development of numerical methods using thin ship theory; evaluation of the effect of equipping semi-planing ships with interceptors on wave generation and fuel consumption; and assessment of the impact of shipping on the beaches in the planning of new shipping lanes or modified service on existing routes. KTH Naval Architecture is here cooperating with for example Waxholmsbolaget and Humpfree.
